INWIT INFRASTRUCTURE DIGITIZATION AND BIM

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT:

Use of a web-based application for the digitization and BIM reproduction of all the information necessary to archive, manage, categorize, analyse, and make available all the data of telecommunication infrastructures distributed throughout the country.

ARCHIVING

At the basis of the application, a series of relational databases are developed that contain all the information both at the site level and at the single digital component level. This information will then be “provided” to other components of the application, to view and manage the sites of the entire real estate assets.

MANAGEMENT

All the information available from the various DBs will be used both to make asset management more efficient, and to plan the project activities of the individual site. In fact, the management of this information is allowed through an “authentication” system, which allows registered users to access or modify the information present, based on their level of access.

CATEGORIZATION

Properly storing information in the various DBs is certainly one of the main components of this application, but what will allow efficient data analysis is the categorization process. This process serves to “discretize” the data based on its type and / or nature, and this step is essential in order to really take advantage of this tool.

ANALYSIS

The completion of the main functions of the application is data analysis, possible thanks to the development of the “components” listed above, such as archiving, management and categorization. The data analysis will therefore take place through the “cross” query of the information present, using block diagrams, infographics, and tables.

VISUALIZATION

All BIM models are therefore “converted” using a set of APIs provided by Autodesk, in order to be viewed and interrogated via the browser. In this way, it is possible to select the digital components of each model and read their characteristics, including all the dimensional and positioning information, which have been inserted upstream with BIM authoring software, specifically Autodesk Revit.
