SERVICES PROVIDED TO THE CLIENT

Seismic vulnerability verification, diagnosticenergy, soil characterization,and BIM restitution of the state of affairs.
The design was aimed at the seismic improvement of the structure,resulting in the identification of stategic interventions, carried out in collaboration with Progetto Psc s.r.l.

BUILDING INTERVENTIONS

The interventions, aimed at improving the seismic performance of the building, can be summarized as follows:

  • Restoring the original design conditions by increasing the number of seismically resistant wall males, eliminating openings made over time, or performing appropriately sized hoops that ensure the restoration of stiffness.
  • Increasing the stiffness of the reinforced concrete tower by making a steel frame.
  • Increased stiffness of the colonnade.
  • Removal of openings near exterior fronts, on floors, on elevations.
  • Ensure infinitely stiff behavior of wooden and metal floors.
  • Enable boxy behavior of the masonry, making it integral to the floor slabs.
  • Reinforcement of unverified wall elements under static conditions by application of reinforced concrete.
  • Reinforcement of reinforced concrete frames not verified at SLU by application of pultruded carbon fibers in both shear and bending.
  • Reinforcement of unverified floors in bending.
  • Reinforcing and making connections to the perimeter masonry of the volterranee slab.
  • Demolition or replacement of vulnerable secondary elements such as arellated ceilings and craft anchors of removable mineral fiber ceilings and fixtures.
  • The modeling of the design state was done using the finite element calculation software CDS Win, where the building was modeled as a single structural unit, so as to show the risk index achieved by the model as a function of the improvements applied to the actual state.
