The market for digital health infrastructure security solutions is growing, driven by challenges related to: patient data protection, regulatory compliance and physical security.
Regulatory compliance (e.g., Ministerial Decree No. 560 of December 1, 2017 or Public Contract Code – Legislative Decree 50/2016) and the complexity of information management pose additional challenges. There are no comprehensive digital services on the market that fully support security and quality of healthcare infrastructure, especially for small and medium-sized facilities, which are particularly vulnerable.
To address these challenges, project partners (LA SIA and UNISA) will develop and validate in a real-world environment (healthcare facility) an advanced digital platform (up to TRL7), leveraging technologies such as Digital Twin (BIM) for identifying critical points in the security of physical infrastructure, AR and VR to virtualize spaces and integrate the virtual into the real world to provide support to end users.
The target users are patients, families, citizens, and health care personnel or facility workers. The project focuses on the topic of safety and risk management related to emergency situations (earthquakes, fires, gas leaks…etc) within a healthcare facility.
The solution is modular in design, allowing future integration of modules and expansion of the platform to other functional areas and different types of environments.
